How assessment works

The LandScale platform guides your team through the five steps of an assessment.

Assess

1. Prepare: Recruit your assessment team and establish your landscape goals and assessment objectives.

2. Design your assessment: Identify your landscape boundary and compile key background information about the landscape, such as land-use cover, population demographics, economic activities.

3. Gather data: Select the indicators and metrics relevant to your landscape and identify and analyse available data for each of your metrics. In some cases, primary data collection may be required.

Validate

4. LandScale validation: The LandScale team review each step of the assessment is completed to check that the LandScale guidelines have been followed and the data used is of sufficient quality.

5. Local review: For each result, someone with expertise in the subject matter and knowledge of the region conducts a review to determine if the data used is suitable and if the results reflect the actual conditions in the landscape.

This two-step process enable decision makers to place a high degree of trust in the accuracy of the assessment results.

Showcase

6. Publish your results: Use your LandScale profile to share the results of your assessment. Use the dashboard to feature key results, and allow potential supporters to dig into the detail in the full results section.

7. Generate reports: Use our report builder to design a customized PDF report tailored to your needs and easy to share with key stakeholders offline.
